“The virus you’ll want to pass along.”
Engaging and provocative writing prompts for creative people of all ages. Perfect for family time and for short on-line class writing exercises, while you steer clear of #Covid-19.
With the experience of 25 years plus as an English teacher, I curate Writing Bug Daily with the eye of an educator, an educational consultant, and a word-obsessed poet.
For me, writing is both intensely personal and powerfully communal. Connecting to our inner voice and then sharing what we find there with others is a tool we can use to stay centered as we face so much uncertainty generally in the world and specifically related to the Corona Virus. “Social distancing” is a necessary physical recommendation that leaves me wanting to find ways to mitigate the space between us through writing. Writing Bug Daily is my attempt to narrow the physical space between us.
I believe good writing is in turns honest, challenging, revelatory, humorous, provocative, painful, joyful. It is my sincere hope some of the daily prompts produce such good writing. I hope we not only write but we also talk about what we write, and in the end we discover what makes us similar to and different from each other.
Happy writing and stay healthy!
