You are an FBI agent assigned to go deep undercover in order to crack an international stolen art syndicate. You are a strange choice for this assignment as you have no advanced degree in Art History, and the last time you had to spell Renaissance, you misspelled it. However, you are uniquely skilled in spinning a story and in making things up as you go along. At an early evening cocktail party on Malta, the purported head of the syndicate (and knowledgeable art collector) asks you into a private room to see his most prized acquisition and analyze it. Even with your very limited knowledge of art you know that it is Caravaggio’s stolen paining of the nativity (seen above) and that it hasn’t been seen since 1969. How do you respond?
Guidelines: All responses should be less than 200 words. When you are done, please post your response in the comments section if you are so inclined. If you do so, please include your name and understand the expectation that your response should easily fit within PG-13 boundaries.
